Did you know that Jenny did not have any professional experience with a camera before starting her Empire? Every pose and photo you see posted on our social media platforms were self-taught and produced through trial and error.
At the age of eight, her Nana gifted her a pink Kodak camera, which is where the FUN began! At a very young age, Jenny learned how to work for her own money. She continued to save money to develop and print her own photos every Friday at the local Berkot’s Grocery Store. One of her favorite memories was waiting for the truck to arrive with her developed film.
Jenny found her true passion in capturing smiles and precious moments. She would call these, “happy shots.” Throughout her childhood, she would hide her sadness from her parents' divorce behind the camera. A laugh or smile would help soften a tough situation. By sharing these “happy shots” with family, friends, or even a stranger, she found herself feeling happy – even if it was just for a split second. Photography became her favorite escape and her number one hobby.
As Jenny grew older, she was known as the girl with the camera. She would make duplicates of every photo to make sure these moments were ALWAYS shared. Her friends knew they could rely on her for capturing the best moments! It’s all about the memories, right? Jenny and I both remember taping printed pictures of friends all over our bedroom walls.
Little did she know that her pink Kodak camera would be the first stepping stone in creating an AMAZING Empire – one that would touch the lives of thousands of women. Being one of those women, I can promise you that the feeling of Beauty and Empowerment is REAL.
Thank you, Nana for gifting Jenny her first pink Kodak camera, and thank you Jenny for holding onto your passion!
